The Roller Conveyer is an exhibition project that connects the rhythm of daily life and the flow of the city as if several projects had been mounted on a conveyer belt and were forming a tailback.
Production of Language creates the accident, issues, Occurrence of events.
At certain times, the words we have searched for are a product of our society that at the very least contains interests and accidents.
We create small fragments with key words and relevant sentences within our consciousness.
There is indeed a curiosity for which kinds of languages your time has created and which images such languages have generated.
Thus, we come to consider the implications of the accidents, a product of the languages in life we have created out of habit, once again.
If we look into the rank of the search keywords in the field of leisure, life and convenience for December 2020, they consist of scales, foot massager, kf94 mask and the Pororo coding computer among others. Of them, the keyword I had searched for was merely a mask. We unconsciously click those words listed in the keyword rank.
The language that captures the people’s attention is equipped with productivity: both material productivity and immaterial productivity.
These keywords can be divided into the real-time hot ranking keywords, trends and insights, and then they can again be divided depending on age.

롤러컨베이어는 여러 프로젝트를 마치 컨베이어 벨트 위에 올려놓은 것처럼, 꼬리에 꼬리를 물고 이어지듯이, 일상의 리듬, 도시의 흐름을 연결한 전시프로젝트이다.
[언어의 생산, 사건이 되다]는 특정기간, 특정시간 우리가 검색한 단어들은 그 시간 동안의 관심과 사건을 담아낸 우리 사회의 생산물이다.
그리고 우리는 검색어와 연관된 문장으로 의식 안에서 작은 단편을 만들어낸다.
당신의 시간은 어떤 언어를 만들어내고 있는지, 이 언어는 어떤 이미지를 생산하는지 궁금하다
그렇게 우리가 습관처럼 만들어가는 언어가 삶에서 생산하는 사건의 의미를 한번 생각해 보게 되는 것이다.
우리의 생각은 언어에 지배된다?
2020년 12월의 여가 생활 편의 검색어 순위를 보면 체중계, KF94 마스크, 발마사지기, 패딩, 뽀로로코딩컴퓨터 등이다. 이 중에 내가 검색한 단어는 겨우 마스크 정도였다. 우리는 검색어 순위에 올라온 단어들을 무의식 중에 클릭하게 된다.
사람들이 관심을 가지는 언어는 생산성을 가지고 있다. 물질적 생산성과 비물질적 생산성 모두를 의미한다.
이 검색어는 급상승어, 트렌드, 인사이트로 분류하고, 다시 연령별 검색어 순위로 분류될 수 있다. 우리의 관심분야는 훨씬 다양하지만 포털 사이트 AI가 구분하는 검색어의 분류는 10개정도의 카테고리 안에서 구분된다. 감정을 모두 분류할 수는 없는 것이다.
클릭이 많이 되어서 검색 횟수가 올라가기도 하지만 노출 횟수가 많은 단어는 다시 사람들의 클릭수를 높이기도 한다. 서로가 영향을 주고 받는다.
언어는 상황을 조정하기도 하고, 사건을 조작하기도 한다. 우리는 언어, 검색어, 데이터의 시대에 살고 있다.
언어의 생산, 사건이 되다는 어떤 개입도 없이 데이터를 모아낸 상황, 그 때의 검색어들을 검색 횟수가 많으면 단어의 크기를 키우는 데이터 값만 주기로 했다.
그렇게 우리는 철저히 관찰자가 되기로 했다.
어떤 단어들이 우리의 생활에 사회에 스며들고 있는지 궁금했다. 당신의 시간이 어떤 언어를 생산하고 있는지 궁금했다.
그리고 그 단어들의 이면에서 숨어있는 ‘혼자’ 산다는 것, 고독과 고립의 과정을 사건의 키로 삼고 가보기로 했다.
AI는 소설을 쓸 수 있다. 하지만 데이터의 과정이다. 창작의 과정이 완벽하게 이뤄질 수 없다. 작가의 개입은 사기다.
검색어의 카테고리가 우리 감정의 니즈를 모두 정의할 수 없듯이 AI가 만드는 모든 언어에는 한계가 있다.
원인과 결과가 뒤섞이는 흐름에서 철저히 관찰자가 되어보자. 우리는 지금 어떤 사회에 살고 있는지 들여다보기로 하자.
